Part time employees are expected to work up to 28 hours per week. All positions require flexible work schedule (days of the week, late evenings, early mornings, weekends and holidays). Overtime work on "as needed" basis.

* * * Part-time UNARMED SECURITY OFFICER * * * $ 10.00 per hour
OVERVIEW: Plans and establishes adequate security procedures for company and compound. Conducts physical security inspections to ensure the safety for employees, customers, vendors and greyhounds. ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS: · Secure main plant, offices, gates, lights and doors, including, but not limited to fire doors · Provide security of main money room through static post security and closed circuit TV monitors · Conduct security rounds inside and outside and kennel compound · Monitor main entrance and roads leading to track property · Question personnel on property to identify unauthorized personnel · Basic first aid to patrons and / or employees · Supply information to visiting guest as needed SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: · Answer house phones · Maintain communication with partner, dispatch and kennel security via radio · Monitor freezers and refrigeration units for correct temperature · Conduct emergency notification as needed · Conduct money escorts as needed · Perform other duties as assigned by Management PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: · Meet all regulations pertaining to health, safety and personal hygiene in accordance with City, State, and Federal laws · Comply with Company / Department policies, including attendance · Must not present a direct threat to health, safety or the welfare of fellow employees or others · Treat all guests, vendors and employees with courtesy, respect, fairness and consistency · Professional in appearance, grooming and behavior · Ability to interpret and complete all communications received and submitted · Respond in a timely manner to all guests and employees · Mandatory Pari-Mutuel license to comply with the State of Florida, Department of Professional Regulations MACHINE / EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED: Portable radio, patrol vehicle, golf cart, computer, pager, gloves, mouth to mouth resuscitation device, fire extinguisher, wheel chair and AED SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Latex gloves, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation device and fire extinguisher QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: · Former police, security or military experience preferred · Working knowledge of operation of track vehicles and track layout · Proper reporting procedures and knowledge of action procedures · Basic security rules and regulations · Ability to deal with crowds and communicate in a courteous and professional manner · Able to investigate and report all safety and security violations on composed reports / documents · Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills · State of Florida class “D” security license preferred WORKING CONDITIONS: · Potential extreme exposure to outdoor / indoor elements and air conditioning / heat · Maximum walking, climbing, squatting, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching · Possible exposure to physical violence as normally encountered by safety / security personnel · Exposure to exhaust fumes · Potential to body fluid exposure · Occasional lifting (average of 50lbs.) · Flexible work schedule · Overtime work on “as needed” basis


* * * Part-time LEADOUTS * * * $9.00 - $11.00 per hour.
OVERVIEW: Walk Greyhounds out for official races. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Maintain proper care of the Greyhounds when leading them from the paddock area, down the track, to the starting box for their appointed race SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: · Ensure that each dog has the racing blanket, leash and muzzle on correctly · Perform other duties as assigned by Management PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: · Meet all regulations pertaining to health, safety and personal hygiene in accordance with City, State, and Federal laws · Comply with Company / Department policies, including attendance · Must not present a direct threat to health, safety or the welfare of fellow employees or others · Treat all guests, vendors and employees with courtesy, respect, fairness and consistency · Professional in appearance, grooming and behavior · Respond in a timely manner to all guests and employees · Mandatory Pari-Mutuel license to comply with the State of Florida, Department of Professional Regulations MACHINE / EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED: Sturdy running shoes QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: · Dog handling skills · Ability to interpret and complete all communications received and submitted · Physically fit is essential, must be able to lift up to 90 lbs greyhound chest height without injuring the greyhound or yourself. WORKING CONDITIONS: · Exposure to outdoor elements – 4.5 to 5 hours each shift · Consistent walking, climbing, squatting, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching · Frequent sprinting on sand track · Frequent chest high lifting minimum of 50lbs · Frequent pulling, minimum 50 lbs · Flexible work schedule


* * * Part-time HOUSKEEPERS / JANITORS * * * $9.00 - $10.00 per hour with a $200 BONUS after 90 days
OVERVIEW: Responsible for cleaning all areas assigned and maintaining compliance with the regulations of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA); works under the direction and policies of the employer.
